Low Back Pain

Is low back pain stopping you from golfing and gardening? Are you left sidelined watching your kids play because you're afraid your back will "go out" again?

Low back pain can be caused by a variety of issues. Pain can be caused by tension in the muscles, muscle imbalance, spinal stenosis, joint changes (arthritis, degenerative (age) changes), poor flexibility, prolonged poor postures, poor movement patterns with lifting, poor sleep or sleeping in awkward positions.

For some people, back pain comes and goes leading to a decrease in quality of life or even to disability. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of fear generated around low back pain. However, low back pain is one of the most common causes of pain so you are not alone!

Physical Therapy that implements education, manual therapy, and active movement approach has demonstrated good evidence in helping people with low back pain.

How We Treat It

We understand that many people have a lot of concerns related to their low back pain. You might have been told that your spine is "older than you are", "degenerating" or "narrowing".

You might have been told that you should never do lifting, squatting, running, biking etc. because of your back pain. But our approach is different. Because unlike many in the world of healthcare we will never tell you that you cannot do "xyz ever again." If you want to run, golf, lift weights, squat, whatever it is we work with you to help you figure out how to meet that goal!

Our approach to physical therapy is different because we treat YOU not your diagnosis. We listen to your complaints, your goals, and your issues. We do a full assessment to determine the root of YOUR issue. We then create a treatment program that is specific to your body and your goals. No cookie cutter treatments here. No more wasting your time on short term relief. It's time to take back your life and take control of your low back pain!
